We’ve spoken to people who had no idea what the term videographer means. And we’ve spoken to people who understood it to refer to the person or persons behind the camera recording a video. In fact, that seems to be most people’s understanding of what a videographer is and does. Hold the camera, point, and shoot. Well, as I’m sure a brief look at our website will clarify for you, there is a whole lot more to videography than simply holding a camera and pointing it at some activity or other – whether that be a wedding, a corporate event, or simply a family occasion that you will want to remember forever. Anybody with access to a video camera can do that, can’t they? Not difficult. But then again, we’ve all seen the results haven’t we? Wobbling lens, lost audio, decapitated subjects, blurred visuals, endless patches of uninteresting content.
We’ve all been subjected to such material too, while visiting friends and relatives and being dragged into a viewing that will leave all but the most personally smitten viewer twitching and reaching for their car keys. But when your material has been gathered and edited, and cut and polished, and creatively crafted together by one of our professional and talented videographers, then it’s a different story altogether. For a start, it will be a story, not just a mish-mash of activity. And as with any good storyline, our videographers here at Bloomsbury Films have the knack of drawing in their audience and holding them long after the final credit has rolled by.
