Gurpal and Amarjeet spread their Sikh wedding over a couple of days – not to mention locations with some taking part in Coventry and the other in Essex. It made for a wonderfully varied celebration of their union. We started out in the family home where everyone was involved in preparations. While mom and aunties were cooking in the kitchen, the children were busy outside laying out spices for one of the wedding rituals. Everyone gathered to enact a wedding ritual for the bride which involved anointing her with various emollients. Naturally this was followed up with lots of eating! After dark, candles were lit and dancing took place. It seemed like great fun.
Another day the bride wore all of her wedding finery (and posing for fantastic photographs to remember it all) before being driven to the Coventry Gurdwara for the Sikh wedding ceremony. The ceremony was lovely and involved several readings, prayers and the exchange of rings. On another day they had a lovely wedding reception in Essex where Gurpal and Amarjeet cut their wedding cake (and fed each other a piece). After eating, our wedding couple took to the floor for their wedding dance – executing it perfectly. While they started out solo on the dance floor, they were soon followed by all the wedding guests and great party ensued. We wish Gurpal and Amarjeet all the best.
Jasmine and Gagan held their Sikh wedding at the Singh Sabha Gurdwara Hounslow on a bright and sunny September day. Both bride and groom had plenty of family on hand to help them prepare for their wedding and surround them with love and support – it was very much a family affair. They gave their blessings before they went off to the Gurdwara for the ceremony. Bride and groom arrived to the Gurdwara separately and Gagan’s arrival was met with much fanfare including brass instruments, drums and a brilliant white steed. The families presented each other with garlands. During the ceremony blessings were made and the union of Jasmine and Gagan was formalised and blessed.
Soon it was time to board the coaches to take the wedding party to the Intercontinental Hotel on London’s Park Lane for the reception. The hotel staff were ready to greet them with fresh fruit and chilled drinks. We got about filming various wedding guests while they enjoyed visiting and having some refreshment. The musicians were once again present to usher in the newlyweds to the reception where they could cut their wedding cake while everyone took multiple photographs of the happy couple. We thank Jasmine & Gagan for letting us share in their wedding day and we hope their video brings them many happy memories for years to come.
Perminder & Gurpeet had loads of family support for their Sikh Civil Wedding. Whether it was in helping them out in preparation, or being there on the day to partake in the ceremony, there was a very strong family presence for their wedding. Our bride had a lovely warm smile, and she showed it often throughout the day – clearly it was living up to her expectations. We thank the family and staff at Eltham Palace for letting us get around to film all the preparations and proceedings. This not only makes our job easier, it also results in a much better wedding video with lots of unique perspectives of the events. The round Art Deco room at London’sEltham Palace made for great filming and when our bride arrived in a classic Rolls Royce, it was like something out of an Hercule Poirot story.
The lawns and grounds of Eltham Palace were a wonderful background for photographs and gave us a chance to move about filming the wedding party. Soon it was time for the wedding banquet in the white and red marquee – beautifully decorated for the occasion. It wasn’t long before DJ Tony Patti was playing his music and the dance floor was heaving. The dancing started with Perminder & Gurpeet but they were soon joined by all their guests having a go. It was a great celebration!
