We accept external submissions of original and engaging material to our online magazine. However, to ensure that it is fresh and appropriate to our readers interests, we ask that articles fit one of the five editorial themes below and have not been published elsewhere (except in print or on your own blog). All submissions are subject to the Editor’s approval.
News & PR – news and articles relating to Bloomsbury Films, this section also includes news relevant to film production or the wedding and event industry.
Project Insights – this section contains articles about projects and events we have filmed. Although articles are usually authored by us, if you have partnered with us on a particular event in the past and want to provide an interesting insight into any creative or planning aspects of it, please let us know!
Client Guidance – this section is designed to give clients and prospective clients honest and useful information about commissioning film and photography. We know this is a grey area for many so we want to provide a diverse range of guidance to help people make informed choices.
Equipment Reviews – as film-makers we understand how important it is to gather information from other professionals about their experience with particular equipment. With so much choice and so little independent analysis from peers, we hope to contribute in some small way with our own equipment reviews. We also accept articles from other event film-makers.
Tips & Training – in this section, we aim to provide readers who have an interest in event filming and documentary-making with some useful tips and insights that we have learned along the way. We also invite guest articles from experienced event film-makers.
Submissions must include at least 1 image 600px (wide) x 250px (high). Other images my be included in the body content of any size and orientation, provided they are 600px wide. Videos may also be used in body content, but must be embedded at 600px (wide) x 337px (high). Article titles should be no more than 36 characters long (including spaces).
Sending Us Your Submission
All you need to do is contact us with your proposal. Accepted content will need to be supplied to us in MS Word or RTF format along with your pictures. Please remember to include any relevant links and credits (e.g. for photographs).
If you are interested in making regular submissions (i.e. at least once a month), please let us know. We have some opportunities for featured contributors, subject to editorial area of expertise.
