Kia & Terri’s Wedding Video

Project: Wedding Video
Package: Cinematic Standard Film
Categories: Oxfordshire Wedding Videos

Background

We’re very lucky to be recommended suppliers at Aynhoe Park, a venue a few years earlier we’d included in our influential ‘Filmmakers Top 10 Wedding Venues UK. It’s a wonderfully eccentric place for a wedding and the original approach goes far beyond the décor. Presumably Kia and Terri liked our work at the venue and after some correspondence booked our Cinematic Standard package. As with all projects we began planning their wedding videography about 2 months before their wedding. This included information about their schedule, key guests, music tastes and logistics. Having filmed at the venue more than six times now we felt confident about exploiting all the creative opportunities for them

Video Production

The shoot followed an established pattern with our crew beginning with some nice external establishing shots before going inside to cover the bride and groom’s preparations. We like weddings where the couple get ready at their reception venue, it means we can really go to town with architectural shots and beautiful details so they can used throughout the film. Our previous wedding videos at Aynhoe had all featured civil ceremonies, but this one was different as the couple had chosen a church ceremony. Fortunately, the church was only a few metres away so one of our videographers was able to hang back with the bride to the last minute before heading to the church. Terri arrived with her father in a vintage car and looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the aisle in her backless-style dress. The ceremony went beautifully and afterwards the guests were entertained in the opulent surroundings of the Orangery. Terri’s father gave a memorable speech that unequivocally display his enormous pride in his daughter and new son-in-law. Despite some uncertainty in the weather the rest of the day went beautifully, with a banquet that was a delight to the senses and wonderful evening reception.

Behind the Scenes

With another wedding the same day we planned this shoot meticulously with our talented female duo Tania and Josy taking this shoot in Oxfordshire. With Tania being a BAFTA member and Josy a sought-after music video director our clients were in great hands. The only dark cloud on the horizon, was literally the weather. Whilst every client fears the heavens opening on their special day, the reality is it is far less common that you might think. In 12 years we’ve only filmed a tiny handful of weddings in torrential rain - and luckily this wasn’t one of them! For the shoot we used our Canon cinema & DSLR cameras with Zeiss prime lenses along with our usual high-end sound recording and grip equipment. The couple’s photographer Dan was very nice to work alongside and the videography went without a hitch. In the studio the project took around a month to edit with our director Andrew providing his professional input. For the project we decided to create a really original poster that combined monochromatic shadows and high contract colour overlay. It was a pleasure to create this film for Kia & Terri and really hope they like it!
